Dear Valued Customer,
In recent studies we are aware of the rising of scamming cases throughout various activities whether on social media and many popular messenger platform such as Facebook, Telegram, WeChat, WhatsApp etc…
The scammer may pretend to be your relative, online seller, or using a business image to trick you into sending or transfer cash to their bank account.
In another scenario, the scammer may claim to be a financial industry such as micro finance or commercial bank by using images from an unwell-known location and uses Facebook page as an advertisement. You could identify them by misspelling the name or using the alphabet in an incorrect order.
They usually ask customer to send some fees in advance to process their application. Please strongly aware with these kind of activities and do remember that Shinhan Bank Cambodia would never ask customer to send cash in advance to process customer’s application form.
Additionally, please never send cash in purposes of deposit, loan repayment or any financial transaction through anyone who claimed to be a bank employee or even the bank employee themselves.
We recommend our customer to secure their social media account with some useful tips from us as below:
- Be aware of a request to transfer money to an unfamiliar account of anonymous person.
- Check and verify the account number with the name of the person before confirm the transaction.
- Do not share your MOTP (Mobile One Time Password), temporary log-in code or PIN code with anyone. Scammer maybe hack into your account and use it as their scamming purpose.
- Add Two-Step Verification to your social media and messengers’ account to give additional security and usually could prevent you for an unauthorized log-in by anonymous person.
We encourage all of our customers to share these information to your friends and families to keep them safe from these scammers.
